What she does: Brand steward, creative director, lead strategist, talent wrangler, social media catalyst, promotions and special event expert, media liaison extraordinaire, motivational coach, den mother, and hand-holder (when necessary).
How she does it: By getting to know clients and their competitors, thoroughly researching the market and competition, creating customized and attention-getting press materials, devising innovative PR and marketing strategies (no cookie-cutter campaigns!), tapping into her extensive contact list—and maintaining upbeat grace under pressure.
Where else she’s done it: As vice-president of PR for Turner Broadcasting, as spokesperson for Mattel Electronics, and as the director of media relations for Burson-Marsteller.
What she does when she’s not doing it: Mentor students and up-and-coming young professionals, take spin classes, or walk her two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. (But she’s usually working.)
What he does: Event producer, photographer, business affairs manager, operations director.
How he does it: With a calm, just-do-it manner that gives clients and subjects a sense of confidence.
Where he’s done it: For 23 years’ worth of CurrentPR clients, as well as his own cable contracting company, whose clients included Cox, Comcast, and Adelphia, and in executive positions with Cox Communications and Group W, a division of Westinghouse
What he does when he’s not doing it: Play golf, work out, or tinker with/repair/refurbish everything in the house.
What she does: Media and blogger relations specialist, events coordinator, celebrity outreach planner
How she does it: By developing good relationships with everyone she comes in contact with, attending closely to every detail, and remaining quietly persistent in the face of any obstacle.
Where else she’s done it: As head of speaker relations for a motivational convention for young people.
What she does when she’s not doing it: Experiment with new hair and make-up styles, see movies, or train her new French bulldog puppy.
